Taking a Load Off Your Feet

The Wellness Mat

The Wellness Mat in Action

Let’s face it.  Preparation of food, cooking it and cleaning up after oneself is mostly an on-your-feet type of job.  I’ve know a few people who perch on stools while in the kitchen but it is highly unusual.

While at the Gourmet Show in San Francisco in August we ran into the WellnessMat.  The company sent us a sample and we’ve had it in our test kitchen for about a week.  Made of polyurethane, the mat really takes a load off your feet while prepping, tending the stove and washing up the dirty pans.  The company says its product is the “mat of choice” for the TSA (there’s job where there’s no sitting down).  The mats are beveled so you don’t trip over them, have a non-skid bottom and come in a variety of sizes and colors.  After being sold commercially for sometime, Wellnessmat is headed for retail this year.

Wellnessmats are debuting  in Cooks Catalogue and Frontgate this fall and can be ordered on-line. They are made in the U.S. (Missouri) and come with a 7 year warranty.  If your feet and legs ache after a day in the kitchen, this might be a great solution for you.

Oh, yes, and by the way, in compliance with the new government regulation (no kidding!) DISCLOSURE OF MATERIAL CONNECTION: http://cmp.ly/2
